🐝 Bee in the Loop – June 2026 HighlightsThroughout June, your Leigh Neighbourhood Policing Team continued to tackle crime, improve road safety and respond to concerns raised by local residents. 🚔 Road Safety Enforcement12 June – Warrington Road, Leigh Officers stopped a vehicle due to concerns about the manner of driving. Checks revealed the driver, who held an international driving licence, was not legally entitled to drive in the UK. Following enquiries, the driver's insurance was cancelled and the vehicle was seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act. ✅ 1 vehicle seized 🚨 Vehicle Pursuit Leads to Arrest16 June – Siddow Common Officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the Siddow Common area. The vehicle failed to stop and rammed a police vehicle before making off. Following a short pursuit, the vehicle was abandoned in nearby woodland. A female suspect was subsequently arrested, charged and remanded into custody. ✅ Driver arrested, charged and remanded 💊 Proactive Action Against Drug Dealing19 June – Siddow Common / Canal Area Plain-clothed officers witnessed a suspected drug deal taking place. A male was detained and found in possession of a significant quantity of suspected Class A drugs. ✅ Male arrested, charged and remanded 20 June – Leigh While on foot patrol, an officer witnessed what was believed to be a drug transaction. A female was stopped and searched, resulting in suspected Class A drugs being recovered. ✅ Female arrested 28 June – Siddow Common Plain-clothed officers observed further suspected drug-related activity. A male was detained and searched, leading to the recovery of a large quantity of suspected Class A drugs. ✅ Male arrested ⚡ Illegal E-Bike SeizedOfficers also seized an illegal e-bike being ridden by a young person. The vehicle was found to be unlawfully modified for use on public roads.
